Our client, a leading Engineering Services Company is currently seeking a Windows / Wintel Engineer to join their team. As a Wintel Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, testing, support, and management of IT systems for a classified UK network. Your responsibilities will include building new environments from the ground up and ensuring they are migration ready and maintained thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain a unified communications solution based on Skype for Business.
• Design, build, test, and maintain a robust email system using Database Availability Groups (DAG) for MS Exchange.
• Design, build, test, and maintain a security monitoring solution.
• Design, build, test, and maintain a hardware security solution.
• Test, implement, and maintain a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system and integrate it with a smartcard system.
• Perform Windows Server upgrades to the latest version.
• Schedule and deploy Windows Updates and security patches.
• Conduct Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) checks.
• Manage the data suites within a data centre.
• Manage a cloud VM infrastructure (vSphere).
• Troubleshoot operational environment issues.
• Maintain storage arrays of various kinds.

To be successful in this role, you should have good experience in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft and Access Control. Experience with infrastructure platforms such as Skype for Business and SharePoint is also highly desirable. You should possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a team.
