Project Manager (Telecoms)
Are you an experienced Project Manager with experienced in Rail telecommunications? We have an exciting opportunity for a 12-month contract within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Role Overview:
Position: Project Manager (Telecoms)
Contract Duration: 12 months (Inside IR35 - Umbrella PAYE)
Rate: Negotiable
Location: York
Responsibilities: In this role, you will:
- Consolidate and Document: Gather and document essential project components, including scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities, issues, and quality requirements.
- Provide Detailed Responses: Respond to Sponsor's Instructions or Remit, clearly defining the resources, tools, and techniques needed to achieve project deliverables (scope, time, cost, and quality).
- Design Management: Oversee internal design resources and external suppliers, ensuring alignment with remit requirements and timely delivery.
- Budget Management: Monitor project expenditure, keeping costs within acceptable tolerances and adhering to forecasts and authority limits.
- Handle Dependencies: Manage critical dependencies and interfaces across multiple workstreams.
- Point of Contact: Be the day-to-day contact for all design-related queries and projects.
- Schedule Management: Ensure effective management of the design program, coordinating with customer schedules.
- Pre-Design Collaboration: Work closely with customers to gather pre-design information.
- Progress Meetings: Chair progress meetings with both designers and customers.
- Technical Engagement: Collaborate with subject matter experts to address technical challenges and respond to customer needs.
- Operational Readiness: Prepare for operational readiness meetings when circuits go live.
Key Skills:
- Understanding of project lifecycles, particularly outline design and detailed design phases.
- Proficiency in schedule management and interpreting project programs.
- Commercial acumen, including forecasting and financial management.
- Confidence in leading progress meetings and following up on actions.
