Job description

Gloucester's Facilities Electrician performs a vital role within the Engineering industry, specifically in the area of electrical maintenance. Our client is seeking a Facilities Electrician to join their team in a permanent position. As a Facilities Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and replacement of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and internal policies and procedures. You will also provide technical support and assist in major site installations and development projects. Your role will contribute to the team's goals in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and HS&E compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support maintenance of the Electrical Distribution Systems on the Gloucester Site while complying with HSE requirements.
  • Manage work orders through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), CarlSource.
  • Support all audit requirements, as applicable.
  • Conduct statutory periodic testing and inspection.
  • Adhere to safe systems of working.
  • Provide technical support.
  • Support major site installations and development projects related to capital expenditure requirements.
  • Assist with budgetary requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and replacement of electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and changing demands.

    Candidate skills & requirements What do you need from me?

    • Appropriate Electrical Technical Qualifications.
    • Apprentice Trained.
    • NVQ3 or equivalent standard achieved.
    • AM2 desirable.
    • Testing & Inspection experience.
    • Fault finding, Corrective & Preventative Maintenance experience.
    • Installation experience (SWA Cabling, Conduit, Trunking)
    • Experience in Variable Speed Drives.
    • Experience with 3-Phase equipment.
    • Working at height/Ladder certified.
    • MEWP Certified. Desirable.
    • Ability to read Electrical Drawings.
    • CMMS awareness. CarlSource. Desirable.
    • High Voltage experience. Desirable.
    • Health, Safety and Environmental understanding.
    • Results-oriented.

    • Team Player.
    • Working on own initiative.
